when children grieve book
It is easier to build strong children
than to repair broken adults.

helping children with loss

The vast majority of parents find themselves at a loss when trying to help their children deal with any grieving experience that impacts them. This four week program is designed to teach parents, and others who work with children, the necessary tools to help children effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing.

Using the book, “When Children Grieve,” by John W. James, Russell Friedman, and Leslie Landon Matthews, Helping Children with Loss is based upon the general principles of the Grief Recovery Method, (GRM) which is an evidence-based program to help grievers achieve recovery from the grief they experience.

Currently I offer the Helping Children with Loss (HCWL) online via Zoom. This is a four week program that is done in the comfort and safety of your chosen location. (and hopefully I will be offering this in-person soon!)

“Having the option of the one-to-one course was attractive to me as I felt I was likely to hold back from expressing my feelings, concerning the death of my wife, in a group scenario. It quickly became apparent to me that I was getting so much more from the sessions than if I had read the Grief Recovery Handbook by myself. Some two months after finishing the course I certainly feel it has been a great benefit to me.”
